Starting over? Sometimes when something has been abandoned for so long it's better to start over again. That's what kind of happened with Intervue Digest. A lot of the technology has changed Javascript and ASP instead of CGI. Dynamic HTML and HTML 4 instead of HTML 3 or lower. Browsers now integrate searching. Newsgroups are less popular. Lastly a lot of big players are running better and larger web sites with daily updates. So what happens to the little guy? Get leaner and smarter about what your site is for and learn to do it well. I'm always thinking of new things to do and add to this site, but I know if I can't move forward with a project or idea it's not going to work. It's not about obstacles, but something that interrupts all the best efforts to make it work. So a lot of things I planned to add to ID stayed in this limbo and dropped off. I tell you what I like about Intervue Digest and it's the same thing that most of my visitors like the shareware sites. It has always been the shareware sites with a few people looking off to other things. Early last year I decided to incorporate game sites in a similar fashion. With the Site Database and ASP pages updates happen a lot faster than writing HTML. So we'll see how it works in the coming months. Thanks, |
